Futura Aedificamus “we build for the future”

We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Director of Sixth Form who will lead and develop our post-16 provision across the Wellsway School and IKB Academy campus.

Do you want to work with exceptional young people and hardworking staff, committed to excellence?

Are you highly motivated and driven, with a proven track record of leadership, outstanding classroom teaching and known for having a positive impact on whole school development?

This is an exciting opportunity to join the campus working in collaboration with leaders to further develop the life chances of young people in the school and across the Futura Learning Partnership. This will include ensuring our continued success for delivering an outstanding Sixth Form experience as Futura Sixth, by working with colleagues from Sir Bernard Lovell School (SBL) as part of our collaborative sixth form.

You will be someone who places young people at the centre of their decisions; someone who has motivated and inspired others to do the same. You will possess a track record of success: in improving the quality of education. You will be a qualified, highly experienced and exceptional teacher with leadership experience either in a curriculum or pastoral role, or both. You will have strong leadership skills, be an excellent communicator and ready to take on a significant level of responsibility.

You will work alongside established leaders within a highly collaborative team to oversee the pastoral care and welfare of the sixth form students and provide leadership and support to the Deputy Director of Post 16 and form tutors. You will have oversight of the pastoral, academic and social progress of all pupils in the Sixth Form, have careers education, including oversight and ultimate responsibility for the Higher Education application process and be an integral part of the Senior Leadership Team.

We are seeking an ambitious individual who has the ability in the future to take on other aspects of senior leadership for example: assessment, teaching and learning, safeguarding or behaviour. The successful candidate will have the opportunity for career development with the structure of the senior team.

The successful candidate will draw on their existing strengths and have proven track records that demonstrate significant school improvement over time in outcomes and performance. Quite simply, people who are able to “build the future” for our wonderful young people.

In return we offer:

  • A competitive salary
  • A full and varied CPD programme offering teaching and leadership development for our staff
  • An opportunity to work in a supportive team from whom you can learn, develop and grow
  • Wider opportunities to be involved across the Futura Learning Partnership
  • An energised and professional working environment
  • Benefits include; pension scheme, discounted sports centre/gym membership, free wellbeing support & medical cover, free on-site parking and cycle to work scheme.
